Friday week 12

Today has been more stuff in the loft with joists and what looks like random planks of wood if I'm honest!! I think Monday the plan is to finish putting joists in the loft and then to start on the dormer during the rest of the week. All getting exciting really.
The most exciting bit of today though was the nest found in our loft. Chris found and removed a very large wasps nest from the eaves. He had to cut it out due to its position and then after showing it to the girls we have left it at the school for them to use for educational purposes.

Thursday week 12

Today has been the turn of the joists in the loft. Sorting all the big supporting stuff for the loft. Big 7by3 inch bits of wood attached to each other and bits of steel!! I think they'll be in the loft for most of the week

Wednesday week 12

Our roof has a little extra on it today. We can see the shape of the roof.

Tuesday week 12

Today has been a very busy day in the loft. There's a huge steel beam going from the wall in the centre of the house out of the corner and is sticking out like a very misplaced bowsprit!

Monday Week 12

While waiting for a third set of drawings from the structural engineer (the second set weren't any good) The builders have put the ceiling joists on the new bit.
The other major thing is the bathroom has a window back in it. This means that we have to be careful when we shower or we may get some of the water down in the old kitchen!! The seal has gone round the bath under the new window.
